Celebrate This Week was established by Ruth Ayres
This week I finished writing my master's project proposal and will formally submit it next week. I have one semester of grad school left and then I am DONE. Part of me is celebrating and the other part is mourning a little bit. I have loved being a grad student in the English Studies for Teachers program at Eastern Michigan University. I have appreciated my education more in this program than

Part of me wishes I could be a professional student. I have toyed with the idea of applying for a PhD program right after I graduate with my master's degree, but I think I need to give myself a few years. And I also need to give myself a few more pep talks that writing a dissertation REALLY isn't that scary (HA!).
But I need to stop getting so far ahead of myself. Right now I'm just going live in the moment and celebrate this milestone of being that much closer to a master's degree.
Congrats, on being almost done with your master's program. I would have to say it was a favorite time of school for me too. It's fun to look at all your books spread out on the floor and recognize so many titles. Lasting Impressions is one of my favorite books from my time in graduate school (more than a few years ago).
ReplyDeleteCongrats to you! This summer I declared my candidacy for December graduation. I celebrate this milestone with you! I also think it's awesome that you are considering a PhD. (I am not at this time.) :)
ReplyDeleteIt is like spying good friends who have gone visiting when I checked out the books so comfortably sprawled on your office floor! Learning will continue and the internet makes the connections you've surely built in school possible to continue. Congratulations on your milestone.
ReplyDeleteYay. I celebrate with you as you complete your big project and how you can see the end (beginning) of this part of your journey.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on writing your proposal. I am sure that a lot of hard thinking and elbow grease went into deciding the subject matter.
